About

I, Ramil Ramiz oglu Ahmadov, was born on 6 February 1981 in the city of Şərur in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. Drawing was my greatest passion from childhood; what began as a fascination soon became a way of life. I started on paper and later moved to oils, learning from televised art programmes and from books on painting.

I am drawn to landscape, portrait, still life and thematic multi-figure composition. To date I have created more than 300 works, which have been shown across 27 exhibitions — 6 solo and 21 group.

My work was first exhibited at "Əcəmi Seyrangah," at a painting competition organised by the Ministry of Youth and Sport of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic under the motto "Novruz comes to our homeland," where I took first place with nine works.

In 2001, twelve of my works were shown at an exhibition organised by the Ministry of Youth, Sport and Tourism, and I was named "Best Young Artist" for my achievements in the fine arts. In 2002 I was awarded a Diploma for first place among young artists at the painting competition held for the III Forum of Azerbaijani Youth. My work has repeatedly been featured on Azerbaijani television, television programmes have been made about me, and articles about my work have appeared in the press.
